We started Hearthside because families deserved something better.

Every parent we spoke to told us the same thing: they wanted the warmth of family care and the structure of a real program. Large daycare centers had waitlists, rotating staff, and classrooms that felt institutional. Home daycares often lacked curriculum or professional safeguards.

Hearthside Little Learners was built to close that gap. We offer a licensed, intentional home daycare experience — a real home, a real routine, and a caregiver who knows your child by name, by temperament, and by heart.

We believe that the earliest years of a child's life are shaped most powerfully by consistency, safety, and genuine human connection. Everything here — the small group size, the daily rhythm, the relationships we build with families — reflects that belief.

"The goal was never to run a business. It was to create the care we wished existed for every family."

What Makes Us Different

The care your child gets here looks nothing like a daycare center

01

Small group, deep attention

We cap enrollment intentionally. With a small group of children, your child is never lost in the crowd — they get real engagement, real conversations, and real learning every single day. We know their favorite books, their comfort objects, and the way they laugh.

Large daycare centers average one caregiver for every 4–8 infants. Here, your child is never a number on a ratio chart.

02

Consistency you can count on

Your child will see the same familiar face every morning — not a rotation of strangers. We believe that secure attachment to a consistent caregiver is the foundation of early childhood development. No shift changes. No revolving door.

Research shows that consistent caregiver relationships during ages 0–3 directly improve language development, emotional regulation, and school readiness.

03

A home, not an institution

Children thrive in spaces that feel safe and familiar. Our home provides natural materials, outdoor time, cozy reading corners, and a daily rhythm that mirrors what healthy family life looks like. No fluorescent lights. No linoleum classrooms.

A familiar, home-like environment lowers cortisol in young children — they relax faster, connect more deeply, and learn more readily than in institutional settings.

04

Real curriculum, real standards

We hold ourselves to professional standards: state licensed, CPR and First Aid certified, developmental milestone tracking, and an age-appropriate curriculum with intentional play-based learning. You'll receive regular updates and developmental reports.

Parents receive daily summaries, milestone check-ins, and open communication — because you deserve to know exactly how your child is growing.

A Day at Hearthside

A gentle rhythm that children can trust

Young children feel safe when they know what comes next. Our daily schedule balances structured learning with open exploration — morning circle, creative play, outdoor time, story, rest, and plenty of space for the unexpected moments that make childhood magical.

We use a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets children where they are. Every activity is chosen with intention — sensory play for infants, imaginative play for toddlers, pre-literacy and numeracy for preschoolers.

We offer care for:

  • Infants (6 weeks – 12 months) — Secure attachment, sensory exploration, developmental milestones
  • Toddlers (1–3 years) — Language, independence, social skills, imaginative play
  • Preschoolers (3–5 years) — School readiness, literacy, math, self-regulation

What Families Say

Parents who've been where you are

We toured six daycares before Hearthside. Walking in here for the first time, I actually exhaled. My daughter has been here for two years, and she runs to the door every single morning.

As a working mom returning from maternity leave at 10 weeks, I needed someone who would care for my son the way I would. Hearthside gave me that peace of mind. I stopped crying at drop-off by week two — because he was clearly thriving.

Mom of Noah, infant enrollment

Our son started Hearthside as a shy, anxious two-year-old who struggled with transitions. A year later, his kindergarten teacher told us he was one of the most socially confident kids in the class. That's Hearthside.

A personal note from Hearthside

I started Hearthside because I believe that childcare is one of the most important relationships a family can have — and it shouldn't feel like a transaction.

I have a background in Early Childhood Education and years of experience working with children from infancy through preschool. I'm state licensed, CPR and First Aid certified, and committed to ongoing professional development. But more than credentials, I bring genuine love for this work.

I keep enrollment intentionally small because I want to know every child in my care as an individual. I want to know what makes your toddler laugh, what helps your infant settle, and what milestone your preschooler is working toward this month.

When you bring your child to Hearthside, you become part of a small, trusted community of families who have chosen something different — something more personal. I am honored every time a family chooses us.

Questions & Answers

Everything parents ask us

We know choosing childcare is one of the biggest decisions you will make. Here are the questions we hear most — answered honestly.

What ages do you accept?

We welcome children from 6 weeks through 5 years of age. We care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children in a mixed-age, home-based environment that mirrors healthy family life.

Are you licensed and inspected?

Yes. Hearthside Little Learners is fully state licensed and subject to regular health and safety inspections. We meet all licensing requirements for group size, safety, caregiver qualifications, and physical environment. Documentation is available upon request.

How many children do you care for at once?

We keep enrollment intentionally small — well below the licensed maximum — to ensure every child receives consistent, individualized attention. Enrollment capacity will be shared during your tour so we can discuss whether we are a good fit for your family.

What does a typical day look like?

Every day follows a predictable, gentle rhythm: morning arrival and circle time, age-appropriate learning activities and free play, outdoor time, meals and snacks, storytime, rest, and afternoon activities. The schedule adapts to the needs of the children currently enrolled, with infant schedules always following each baby's own rhythms.

How do you handle discipline?

We use only positive guidance and redirection — never punishment, isolation, or any approach that shames a child. We believe in teaching children to understand their emotions, communicate their needs, and develop self-regulation through patient, consistent modeling by adults.

How do you keep parents informed during the day?

You will receive daily updates including feeding, sleep, activities, mood, and any notable milestones or moments. We welcome parent communication and have an open-door policy for visits and questions. We also hold regular check-in conversations to discuss your child's development.

What is your enrollment process?

It starts with a no-obligation tour — a chance for you to see the space, meet the caregiver, and ask every question on your list. If we are a mutual fit, we will discuss availability and walk you through enrollment paperwork, health forms, and a transition plan to help your child settle in comfortably.
